As founder of Baxter Planning, Greg Baxter is still the guiding force behind the company’s comprehensive suite of products and professional services. Greg brings over 30 years of experience in the service planning industry, including 10 years at Texas Instruments where he served as world-wide system planning manager. Since founding Baxter Planning in 1993, Greg has championed software designs that operate from a service planners’ perspective while effectively addressing the business demands of C-level executives. This has resulted in customer-proven, first-to-market innovations that optimize worldwide inventory networks through SaaS and on-demand planning services. He holds an Economics degree from Texas A&M and an Engineering degree with a specialty in Operations Research from University of Texas. Greg thrives on his passions for planning, running, yoga, guitar, and dark chocolate.
Mårten Gustafsson, Chief Revenue Officer
Mårten Gustafsson is a veteran technology executive with 20+ years of sales, strategy, marketing, services, and business development experience across multiple industries, managing business units and teams across the Nordics and Europe. Mårten is passionate about leading high-performing teams to help companies realize value with sustainable solutions in a global environment.
Prior to Baxter, Mårten worked for PTC, Dassault Systemes, and Syncron driving significant growth and business expansion opportunities. As CRO, Mårten leads Baxter’s global sales, partnerships, and marketing teams to drive new customer value and deliver world class service-business transformations.
Mårten holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Uppsala University and has a background in services, pre-sales, and sales before assuming his more recent sales leadership roles. Outside of Baxter, Mårten enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing numerous competitive sports in Sweden (and in locations around the globe!).
Chad Hawkinson, Chief Product Officer
Chad Hawkinson has over 20 years of management and product leadership experience in both private and public companies. Most recently, he was Chief Product Officer for Vertafore, a Denver-based software company focused on the insurance industry that was sold to Roper Technologies (NYSE: ROP) in 2020. Prior to Vertafore, Chad was the Senior Vice President and General Manager for a $350M division of IHS Markit (NASDAQ: INFO), where he managed over 1,000 employees across product development, sales, marketing, data science, and professional services. Mr. Hawkinson has done business in over 30 countries. Chad has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from MIT. Outside of Baxter, Chad enjoys spending time with his family and friends in Colorado. He also teaches engineering classes part-time at the University of Colorado at Denver.
Lance Johnson, Chief Supply Chain Officer
Lance brings over 20 years of experience in Aftermarket Service Support. He started his career at Hughes Aircraft Company as a member of their technical staff where he quickly found his passion in the area of Total Quality Management. He then worked with the Exabyte Corporation where he was responsible for the Services Repair Organization, and subsequently joined Sun Microsystems where he served as the Global Supply Chain Planning Director and ran global planning activities, led process and systems improvements in various Global Supply Chain initiatives and drove significant process efficiencies through the use of Six Sigma and other tools. Lance earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Pacific.
Phillip Kennedy, Chief Customer Officer
Phillip Kennedy leads Baxter Planning’s customer advocacy and growth strategy. His vision and passion for customer success have resulted in Baxter’s Best Practice Scorecard, increased adoption of Planning as a Service, and growing list of customer success stories. Phillip joined Baxter in 2012 as VP, Product Management and has 19 years of experience solving enterprise market problems. Prior to joining Baxter Planning, Phillip held leadership positions at high growth software businesses with a focus on differentiation based on service. He has a degree from Virginia Tech in Accounting Information Systems, is certified as a Product Manager by Pragmatic Marketing, and serves as a member of the Advisory Board for the Customer Experience Program at the University of Houston.
Chuck Moeling, Chief Executive Officer
Chuck Moeling spent the first half of his career with Bain & Company and Accenture focused on clients at the intersection of growth and technology. As an operator, Chuck has led SBUs and held C-level positions with high growth, recurring revenue, technology businesses in the SaaS, security and network infrastructure markets, both domestically and around the globe. He joined Baxter Planning as CEO in 2018 following Polaris Partners’ growth capital investment. Chuck has an MBA from Wharton, an Electrical Engineering degree from Vanderbilt and his CPIM from APICS. In addition to his passion leading great teams delivering powerful customer solutions, he relishes the feel of a fly rod, the mist of saltwater spray fighting a big fish and a great glass of cabernet to celebrate the day’s catch with his wife and sons.
Mike Nilsson, VP of Global Customer Success
Mike Nilsson has 20+ years managing Operations, Field Services, and Account Management teams in a variety of industries including e-Commerce, security and network infrastructure markets, and technology. He joined Baxter in 2018 and was promoted to VP, Global Customer Success, with responsibilities for managing our overall Customer Experience. Outside of Baxter, Mike lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife, two kids and dogs. He enjoys traveling the world, spending time with his friends and family, watching Formula 1, playing sports, and modifying automobiles and motorcycles.
Elliot Strumlauf, Chief Financial Officer and EVP of HR
Elliot Strumlauf serves as Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing Baxter Planning’s Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, and Corporate Development functions focusing on growth investments and strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Baxter Planning, Elliot held progressive leadership roles at HD Supply (now Home Depot), where he ran Corporate Development and Strategic Planning, and at Cardlytics, where he oversaw M&A, Strategy, and Investor Relations. Elliot graduated from Emory University with a degree in Finance and General Management and is a CFA charter holder. Outside of Baxter, Elliot enjoys traveling with his wife and son, photography, cooking, and distance running.
